I thought I’d repost this from a conversation I had on facebook…
No matter who runs this country, we can’t just sit here complacent. Stuff like this happens..

amen! I mean it is VERY comforting to know that God is in control but that doesn’t mean we should just sit here and not say anything when things aren’t going in a direction that we approve of. It’s our country, for the people, by the people not for a certain party or political figure.

Yep. I mean, to those who say that questioning the government is unpatriotic…wasn’t this country born out of governmental distrust? Even the founding fathers were so paranoid it was a miracle the Constitution even happened.

Seriously! Thomas Jefferson said, “Question with boldness”.
The Declaration of Independence says that the government “deriv[es] their just powers from the consent of the governed”… we’re the ones that should be giving consent but instead I feel like we’re having a whole bunch of stuff crammed down our throats.
It is patriotic to question what is going on. It means we care.

Mainly, I just don’t like Al Sharpton but I think I have a point with this one…
Yesterday, Sharpton gave Michael Jackson credit for electing Obama. It occurred to me that Sharpton may have inadvertently hurt Jackson’s image. You see, half the American’s who dislike Obama can now blame Michael Jackson! Thanks MJ! So much for trying to maintain this hero status…
(Don’t get me wrong, I like MJ’s music. Just thought it was funny…)
Anyone with a brain knew President Obama was lying when he said he had no interest in running GM or even when he said he only wanted it to be temporary (did he say that?). Unfortunately, it’s becoming more and more of a reality every day.
GM is poised to sell its assets to a new government-backed company. If the government had no interest in running GM or staying in business with them, why this? It doesn’t make sense.
Businesses will fail. That’s life. They should be forced to suffer the consequences and the government should stay out of it.
Check out Ann Coulter’s commentary on Sarah Palin’s exit. It is great! I think she hit the nail on the head and that all the Palin Haters better watch out. This woman has a backing and big things ahead of her.
I went to the Puyallup TEA Party today and had a blast! It was great to hang out with some 50-60 patriots on the side of the road and listening to cars honkin’ at us :) The response was very good and I am excited about the country’s future if we can change it!
I wish I had gotten a pic of my sign! Inspired by Glenn Beck, it read, “Common Sense, Please!” The wonderful ladies next to me loved it :)
If you were at the Puyallup TEA Party and have pictures, email me at collegekidramblings [@] gmail.com!
Folks, if you think the government is out of control and needs to change and that America is good but its about time it return to greatness… show your support but visiting a TEA PARTY this July 4th!
I’ve been in contact with the organizer for my town’s tea party and she says they are expecting around 50-70+. That may not seem like much but for the size of my town, its good. If everyone across the nation will join in, we will be heard!
Here are the lyrics from “Have You Forgotten” (Youtube) by Darryl Worley. A good reminder and thing to think about…
I hear people saying we don’t need this war
I say there’s some things worth fighting for
What about our freedom and this piece of ground?
We didn’t get to keep ‘em by backing down
They say we don’t realize the mess we’re getting in
Before you start preaching
Let me ask you this my friend
CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry ’bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
They took all the footage off my T.V.
Said it’s too disturbing for you and me
It’ll just breed anger that’s what the experts say
If it was up to me I’d show it every day
Some say this country’s just out looking for a fight
After 9/11 man I’d have to say that’s right
CHORUS 1
Have you forgotten how it felt that day
To see your homeland under fire
And her people blown away?
Have you forgotten when those towers fell?
We had neighbors still inside
Going through a living hell
And you say we shouldn’t worry ’bout Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
I’ve been there with the soldiers
Who’ve gone away to war
And you can bet they remember
Just what they’re fighting for
CHORUS 2
Have you forgotten all the people killed?
Some went down like heroes in that Pennsylvania field
Have you forgotten about our Pentagon?
All the loved ones that we lost
And those left to carry on
Don’t you tell me not to worry about Bin Laden
Have you forgotten?
